Opportunities to Participate

The Hayden Resiliency Plan is a major undertaking that will require input from and collaboration among a wide range of community interests. The entire community is invited to participate.

Project Overview

The Hayden Resiliency Plan and Development Code project is an interlinked and interdisciplinary planning effort intended to weave resiliency principles into the Town’s overall approach to land development.

The Town is taking a holistic approach to understanding and managing the development factors within the Town’s control (regulations, infrastructure, and fees) in ways that can help guide the impacts of rapid growth on a small community, with a focus on environmental resilience, infrastructure development, community health, and financial stability. The project includes five core components, select the project area below to learn more:

  1. Hayden Development Code Update
  2. Public Works Studies, Water and Wastewater Rate Model Update & Infrastructure Growth Modeling
  3. Financial Growth Impact Model
  4. Environmental Resiliency Review
  5. Community Health Assessment and Action Plan

Project Goals

Overarching goals for the project include:

  • Strengthening Hayden’s critical infrastructure and environmental resilience to prepare for future risks;
  • Modernizing Hayden’s policies, regulations, and financial tools to support sustainable growth and improve community health; and
  • Ensuring resiliency is incorporated into Hayden’s decision-making and policy-setting process.

Resiliency Working Group

This project will be guided by a Working Group consisting of a range of community representatives with project-relevant experience and community knowledge. The Working Group’s role will be to provide local knowledge and share insight into how various aspects of the project will work (or not work) in Hayden, as well as provide suggestions about members of the community who should be consulted during the engagement process.
