POLICE Officer – Part Time
Protects the lives, safety, health, welfare and property of individuals within the corporate limits of Hayden by enforcing municipal, state and federal ordinances, statutes and laws. Incumbents may be assigned to the Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and/or any special assignments as necessary. The position includes incumbents with full technical and operational capabilities in police practices gained through extensive training and experience. Does related work as required.
Wage Status: Hourly, part time
Wage Range: $50.00 – $55.00/hr DOQ’s

POLICE DETECTIVE
Protects the lives, safety, health, welfare and property of individuals within the corporate limits of Hayden by enforcing municipal, state and federal ordinances, statutes and laws. Incumbents may be assigned to the Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and/or any special assignments as necessary. The position includes incumbents with full technical and operational capabilities in police practices gained through extensive training and experience. Does related work as required.
Wage Status: Full Time Non Exempt
Wage Range: $32.06 – 40.92/hr DOQ’s

Vacation and Sick Time: Accrues up to 3 weeks of vacation and 12 days sick time annually

Retirement: The Town has a 457 ICMA-RC plan and will match up to 7% of employee contributions as well as Roth IRA options

The Hayden Town Council is the legislative and governing body of the Town of Hayden, which is a Home Rule Municipality. The seven-member Town Council consists of six (6) Councilmembers and one (1) Mayor. Except when appointed to fill a vacancy, all Councilmembers are elected at large. The Town Council provides direction to Town staff, enacts laws, adopts a budget and has the power of appointment over numerous Town officials. The Town Budget, approved and adopted by the Town Council, is used to estimate all of the revenues and expenses of Town and to provide spending direction for projects.
The Hayden Parks & Recreation Board helps plan, direct develop and implement recreation activities and events to assist in promoting long-range programs for the development of the Town’s recreation system for youth, adults and senior citizens. The Parks and Recreation Board works in cooperation with Parks & Recreation Staff to achieve an ample diversity of recreation activities to meet established goals and objectives. Some current programs and events include peewee wrestling, baseball, softball, basketball, tumbling for tots, stokes gulch moto-x, Cog Run, Hayden Daze, Easter egg hunt, Harvest Festival, Autumn Tea.
The board meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Hayden Center. They are a working board made up of nine volunteers that reside within the town limits of Hayden.

The Hayden Economic Development Commission has an opening. This is a great way to get involved in the Town’s economic development efforts as the Town moves towards an economic resiliency model. The Hayden Planning Commission currently has an opening for a regular volunteer Planning Commission seat and two volunteer Alternate Member seats. The Hayden Planning Commission reviews planning, zoning, and development applications for property located within the Town of Hayden. Commission members use the Hayden Development Code and the Hayden Forward Master Plan to guide their review process. Involvement in the Hayden Planning Commission is an opportunity to have a role in the future development of the community.
