Creative Movement

Movement belongs to everyone, especially the little ones. In this class we will focus on organized exploration of movement. Along with practicing moving on our own & moving with a group. Creative movement is where we learn basic dance classroom etiquette, along with basic body and mind control. This is where we build the base for a love of movement and expression.

Fridays  |  9:15 – 10:00am

Ages: 3-5

Cost: $225

Ballet / Tap 1

Dancers will learn basic ballet and tap foundations of movement with proper terminology along with a beginner’s understanding of body alignment, while also creating a dance family full of acceptance, fun ,creativity, exploration and hopefully a love for dance.

Fridays  |  10:00 – 11:00am

Ballet / Tap 2

Dancers will have to have taken ballet one or been approved by the teacher to take this class. Dancers will deepen their understanding of basic movement and terminology while adding new vocabulary and movement to their repertoire in ballet and tap. Students will work in all positions of ballet, and start working on traveling ballet steps and find a sense of that beginner ballet poise. On the tap side students will learn how to flow through tap movements and add elements that take beginner steps to intermediate steps. All while fostering friendship and oneness through dance.

Fridays  |  11:00am – 12:15pm

Ages: 7-9

Ballet / Tap 3

Dancers will need a prerequisite of ballet and or tap, unless otherwise given permission from the teacher. This is where dancers will step into more serious dance, as every aspect of class will advance here. Dancers will be expected to have a good understanding of movement and terminology. Ballet/Tap 3 is for dancers who want to work hard, play harder and build the foundations that they will take with them throughout not only their dance careers but for through their lives as a whole.

Students will start to Identify specific ballet techniques, focusing on Cecchetti and Vaganova.  The contemporary component of this class will be heavily modern influenced by the limon technique.
