At the age of three Ebany struck a love for dance that has only grown stronger with time. Ebany got into her local dance company by audition at just 11 years old, the Axis Dance Company, as part of the Jeanne Limmer Dance Center in North Conway, NH, She became a dance teacher’s assistant in middle school which led her to then start student teaching and choreographing in high school. She spent seven years with Axis Dance Company training rigorously in Modern, focusing on the Limón technique and ballet (including en pointe) mostly in the techniques of Cecchetti and Vaganova. Ebany also trained in Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Improvisation, and a bit of musical theater. Ebany had the immense privilege of being a part of programs like the Vermont Dance Festival, the Plymouth State Dance Festival, the Bates Dance Festival/Intensive, the MOVE Intensive and the Urbanity Summer Intensive. After high school Ebany trained with the Limón institute in their Limón launch program during which time she also took part in all that NYC scene had to offer. Taking classes at Broadway Dance Center and STEPS among various other places before going to teach Advanced Modern in NH. Ebany is thrilled to be joining the divine madness that is Perry-Mansfield and is eager to keep fostering imagination, spirit and serious performance while taking risks, connecting to nature and tapping into all four rooms of self being the physical, mental, intellectual, and spiritual, through dance. Ebany is even more thrilled to be able to share that here at the Hayden Center.
